There was a chili recipe that I made a week or two ago. I found it in a Cooking Mystery book and its called Jim's Dilly of a Chili. The name of the book was called 'Dead Men Don't Get The Munchies.'

Ingredients For jim's dilly of a chili.

  • 1 lg
    onion
  • 1
    leek
  • 1 lg
    green pepper, chopped
  • 1 lg
    red pepper, chopped
  • 1 can
    whole tomatoes, with juice
  • 2 can
    diced, chopped tomatoes
  • 3 Tbsp
    olive oil
  • 3 lb
    ground beef or combo of beef and pork
  • 2-3 pkg
    chili seasoning mix
  • 1 can
    black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can
    red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can
    white northern beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3-5
    sour dill pickles

How To Make jim's dilly of a chili.

    In large skillet, saute onion and leek in olive oil until soft. Add beef or beef and and pork. Brown, and drain excess grease. Transfer meat to large stock pot. Add peppers and tomatoes. Cook for 2 hours on low heat, stirring occasionally. Add chili seasoning to meat mixture. Cook 15 minutes. Add beans, cook an additional 15 minutes. Add dill pickles. Cook until pickles heat through, approximately 5 minutes. Serve with shredded cheese and a dollop of sour cream
