Don't these look good? Mmm, I can almost taste the tomato flavor and yummy cheese. It takes very little time to get that Italian flavor. I have tweaked Taste of Home's recipe just a bit. Photo: Tasteofhome.com

Ingredients

  • 1 - egg
  • 1/2 cup italian seasoned bread crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 or 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound beef sirloin steak, boneless
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup shredded parmesan, romano, & asiago cheese blend

How To Make italian steaks

  • Step 1
    In a shallow bowl, whisk egg. In another shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, basil, oregano, salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
    Cut the steak into four pieces; dip each piece in egg, then coat with bread crumb mixture.
  • Step 3
    In a large skillet, cook steaks in oil for 5 minutes on each side. Add garlic and cover; continue cooking over low heat for 20 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Meanwhile, heat sauce in a small saucepan. Spoon over steaks; sprinkle with cheese and serve.
