Pronounced...greeyads. My Paw-Paw owned a corner grocery store and he had a butcher counter. Once he would butcher the beef for the store, all the trimmings went home for the family. My Maw-Maw would make grillades with it. This recipe is what she did with those trimmings. Full of flavor

Ingredients
- 1 - beef round steak, 1/2 inch thick
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 tablespoons flour
- 1 - onion, sliced
- 1 large can of tomatoes 28 oz
- 1 - green pepper, minced
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
How To Make grillades

Step 1Cut beef in cubes. Brown in oil. Set aside

Step 2Add flour to same oil and brown. A light brown color. Add onion and salt. Cook until soft.

Step 3Return meat to pot and all other ingredients.

Step 4Simmer for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
