I have been posting some low fat recipes for a Heart Healthy Cookbook I'm working on.
Ingredients

1 lbvery lean ground beef

1 mediumonion, chopped (1/2 cup)

1/2 cchopped red or green sweet pepper
-
1/2 cshredded carrot (or substitute zucchini)

1 ckellogg's® all-bran® original cereal
-
1 can(s)(15 ounces) tomato sauce
-
1 can(s)(14.5 ounces) diced fire-roasted tomatoes with green chiles or diced tomatoes with green chiles
-
1 Tbspworcestershire sauce
-
2 tspground cumin
-
1/4 tspsalt
-
8whole wheat hamburger buns
How to Make Good For You Sloppy Joes- Low Fat
- In a large skillet cook beef, onion, sweet pepper, and carrot until meat is brown; drain fat. Stir in KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN Original cereal, tomato sauce, undrained diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, cumin, and salt. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 5 minutes, or until desired consistency, stirring occasionally. Serve in buns. Serve with carrot sticks (if desired).
