In the lean years of our marriage, I had to get pretty creative with a lb. of hamburger. This is just one of the staples that kept us going. We affectionately called it "Glop".

Ingredients

  • 1 pound hamburger
  • 1 can cream of chicken or mushroom soup
  • 1 package tater tots
  • 1 can corn
  • dash salt and pepper

How To Make "glop"

  • Step 1
Brown or boil and drain 1 lb. ground beef.
  • Step 2
Once drained of water and fat, mix in 1 can Cream of Mushroom soup. For an added taste, you can mix half and half mushroom and celery. Optional: Mix in a can of drained corn or your favorite veggie. I don't recommend frozen.
  • Step 3
In the baking dish, cover the top with tater tots. Bake at the temperature recommended on the tots package. The drop down menu has specific times on it but it's better to go with the package directions. Leave in a bit longer if you like your tots crispy. Serve with a salad and rolls. This is a cheap dish that is a hit with the "meat and potatoes" crowd.
