This has been our favorite meat loaf recipe for a long time. It's also great as meat loaf sliders made with the leftovers.

  • 1/2 c
  • 1/3 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    realemon lemon juice from concentrate
  • 1 tsp
    dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 c
    fresh bread crumbs, 3 slices
  • 1/4 c
    finely chopped onion
  • 1
    egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tsp
    beef bouillon, instant

How to Make Glazed Meat Loaf


  1. Preheat oven to 350*
  2. In small bowl, combine ketchup, sugar, 1 tbsp. of lemon juice, and mustard.
  3. In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients and 1/3 cup ketchup mixture; mix well.
  4. In shallow baking dish (pie plate or 9 x 13); shape into loaf. Bake 1 hour.
  5. Pour off fat. Pour remaining ketchup mixture over loaf; bake 10 minutes longer. Refrigerate leftovers.
