This has been our favorite meat loaf recipe for a long time. It's also great as meat loaf sliders made with the leftovers.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup realemon lemon juice from concentrate
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs, 3 slices
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 - egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon beef bouillon, instant

How To Make glazed meat loaf

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350*
  • Step 2
    In small bowl, combine ketchup, sugar, 1 tbsp. of lemon juice, and mustard.
  • Step 3
    In large bowl, combine remaining ingredients and 1/3 cup ketchup mixture; mix well.
  • Step 4
    In shallow baking dish (pie plate or 9 x 13); shape into loaf. Bake 1 hour.
  • Step 5
    Pour off fat. Pour remaining ketchup mixture over loaf; bake 10 minutes longer. Refrigerate leftovers.
