Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/4 cup grated onion
  • 2 cups seasoned stuffing, about 4 oz.
  • 1 can (10.5 oz.) french onion soup
  • 2 - eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded swiss or gruyere cheese, 4 oz.
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 can crispy fried onions

How To Make french onion meatloaf

  • Step 1
    In a large bowl, mix together beef, grated onion, stuffing, soup, eggs, thyme and black pepper until well combined. Form into a loaf, about 9x5-inches and transfer to a loaf pan that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    Bake in a preheated 350-degree oven for 45 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Remove meatloaf from oven and top with shredded cheese, grated Parmesan and crispy fried onions. Return to oven and bake an additional 15 minutes, until cheese is melted.
  • Step 4
    Remove meatloaf from the oven and place pan on a cooling rack. Transfer meatloaf to a cutting board or platter and rest 15 minutes before serving.
