Ingredients For fireman bob's irish corned beef my way.....

  • 3 to 4 lb
    corned beef brisket - your choice - brined by you or store bought...
  • 12
    whole peppercorns
  • 2
    whole bay leaves
  • 6 md
    red potaotes peeled
  • 1 c
    celery - cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 md
    yellow onion - cut into small wedges
  • 1 md
    head of green cabbage cut into 6 wedges
  • 1 c
    red bell pepper - cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    snipped parsley
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    snipped chives
  • 1 Tbsp
    yellow mustard

How To Make fireman bob's irish corned beef my way.....

    Rinse off beef brisket with cold water. Place brisket in large dutch oven, add the bay leaves, peppercorns, and mustard. ( Mustard being optional ) Cover tightly and simmer 3 to 4 hours until meat is tender. About 40 minutes before the brisket is done, add the potatoes, cook for another 15 minutes covered. At this time, place the celery, onions in and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes. Now place the cabbage on top of the vegetables, cover tightly once again and cook for another 17 to 20 minutes.
