This is a quick and easy one dish meal. Just add some cooked white rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless chuck steak
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 package dry instant soup mix
  • 2 medium sweet green bell peppers, cut into thin strips
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 cups hot cooked white rice

How To Make easy pepper steak

  • Step 1
    Cut meat into thin strips 2 inches long. In large skillet, heat shortening and brown meat, turning frequently. Stir in onion soup mix and two cups of water. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Stir in peppers. Simmer, covered, 10 minutes, or until meat is tender. Blend cornstarch with !/2 cup water. Stir into skillet. Cook while stirring until thickened. Serve over rice.
