easy beef or venison and broccoli stir fry

Can be made with beef, venison, or elk. We usually have a lot of deer and elk meat in the freezer so I use that in place of the beef. My husband LOVES it!

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons corn starch, divided
  • 1/2 cup water plus 2 tbsp water, divided
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pound boneless beef, venison or elk round steak cliced into thin 3 inch strips.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 - small onion, cut into wedges
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons grated fresh ginger or 1 tsp powdered ginger
  • - hot cooked rice
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes (optional)

How To Make easy beef or venison and broccoli stir fry

  • Step 1
    In a bowl, combine 2 T. cornstarch, 2 T. water and garlic until smooth. Add meat and toss to coat.
  • Step 2
    Heat Large skillet or wok over med-high heat, add 1 T. oil to hot pan, swirl to coat then stir fry beef to desired doneness. Remove from pan and keep warm.
  • Step 3
    Place remaining 1 T. oil in pan and stir-fry onion and broccoli for 4-5 minutes, then return beef to pan.
  • Step 4
    Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, 1/2 c. water, and red pepper flakes. Add to the pan. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
  • Step 5
    Serve over hot cooked rice.
