I found the recipe to make sure I got the ingredients right~ in her handwriting it says Groulash Soup. how fitting I post it in October. This is a soup my mother in law taught me how to make. I have vegetarians in my family and have made with out meat. either way it is delish.

Ingredients For dona's onion soup

  • 4 md
    onions
  • 2 to 6 clove
    garlic minced
  • 3 Tbsp
    evoo
  • 1 Tbsp
    paprika
  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 lb
    unseasoned sausage
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 md
    potatoes cubed
  • 4 md
    roma tomatoes chopped
  • 3 c
    beef stock

How To Make dona's onion soup

  • 1
    Saute onions until translucent, add garlic till aromatic. Then add paprika. Salt & pepper to taste.

    Stir in meat, leave in bite size pieces, brown well
  • 3
    Add beef stock and the rest of the ingredients, simmer 30 minutes or until potatoes are done.

    This has a tomato base but you can add dumplings, if you decide to add dumplings do so the last 15 minutes.
