My father would make the best, juiciest roast at least once a month. I always looked forward to it. He would start cooking it on a Saturday night and by Sunday it would be ready.

Ingredients
- 3 pounds beef chuck roast
- 1/3 cup light, lower sodium soy sauce
- 1 package dry onion soup mix
- 2 teaspoons pepper
How To Make dad's juicy, slow-cooked roast

Step 1Pour the soy sauce and soup mix into slow cooker, mix well.

Step 2Place roast into cooker. Add water until the top 1/2" of roast is not covered. Add pepper. Cover, cook on low for about 20 hrs or until meat is very moist and tender.

Step 3I usually add some carrots and potatoes along side the roast, the last couple of hours.
