Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef or turkey
- 3 - large green peppers-seeded and sliced
- 1 - jalapeno pepper
- 2 cans tomato sauce-the 26 or so ounce cans
- 3 cans rotelle-spicy-or regular if you don't want it hot
- 1 1/2 pounds rice-i use minute rice
- 4 cups monterey jack cheese or colby jack cheese
- - garlic and onion powder-to your taste
- - crushed red peppers
How To Make crockpot stuffed green peppers
-
Step 1Brown meat in seasonings, drain well then add tomato sauce, tomato paste and Rotelle
-
Step 2slice green peppers-I do it on my mandolin slicer in rounds but however you want to cut them just make sure they are fairly small.
-
Step 3Cook rice as directed on package, drain then mix with meat and rotelle
-
Step 4Dice the jalapeño pepper, mix with the rice and meat mix
-
Step 5layer rice, peppers, cheese and continue to layer until crock pot is full. Top with cheese and set Crockpot to low.
-
Step 6Let heat all the way through until the cheese melts then it is time to serve. Will sit for a long time-if you can keep people out of it.
