This is so easy and so tasty. I cook the rice ahead so that it doesnt use up all the juices if it wasnt cooked ahead. Even the kids like this recipe.

Ingredients For crockpot cabbage roll caserole

1-2 lblean ground hamburger

2-3cloves of garlic

1 lgonion, i used a white onion

pepper to taste

1 crice ( i used brown basmatti)

1cabbage chopped
-
2 jar24 oz spagetti sauce
-
1 lgcan of stewed or chopped tomatoes (i used stewed)

1-2 cwater
-
2-3cloves of garlic (added this to the stewed tomatoes) you can leave this out if you prefer
How To Make crockpot cabbage roll caserole

1chop the onion and saute til opaque or so , then add hamburger and brown. As it browns chop the garlic ( I used 3 cloves) and add to hamburger. Season to taste. I added black pepper.

2While the hamburger is cooking, cook the rice as per directions. And chop the cabbage and par boil it for a few min to soften.

3When the hamburger is browned up add to a large slow cooker or crockpot. Add rice and cabbage next. I alternated the cabbage and rice twice.

4Pour the stewed tomatoes and 1 jar of spagetti sauce or the top of the layers. Add the water over the top.

5Set the crock pot to high for 4 to 6 hours as it cooks down you might need the second jar of sauce. The rice might soak up some of the juices so that is the reason for the 2nd jar of sauce. After a few hours you can turn it to low if it is more convenient for you.

6After about an hour give it a quick mix. Then you can tell if you need to add more sauce or not.
