Always looking for the "easy" way out of making dinner on busy days. When I saw this recipe, I had to try it. It worked perfectly and was very tasty. Saw this on Facebook

prep time 15 Min
cook time 6 Hr
method Slow Cooker Crock Pot
yield 6 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless chuck roast, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 cup beef consumme
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons cooled sauce from the crockpot after being cooked
  • 1 cup fresh broccoli florets
  • - 2-3 cups hot cooked rice, white or brown

How To Make crockpot beef and broccoli

  • Step 1
Place beef in a crock pot. In a small bowl, combine consumme, soy sauce, brown sugar/honey, sesame oil, and garlic. Pour over beef. Cook on low for 6-8 hours
  • Step 2
In a cup, stir cornstarch and sauce from crock pot until smooth. Add to crock pot. Stir well to combine. (if your sauce is not thickening, try bringing the sauce to a boil on the stovetop with the cornstarch mixture. Boil until your desired consistency is reached).
  • Step 3
Add broccoli to crock pot. Stir to combine. Cover and cook an additional 30 minutes on high (the sauce has to boil for it to thicken)
  • Step 4
    Serve over hot cooked rice.
