Corned Beef & Cabbage In The Crock

Nancy Allen

I had a hankering for some corned beef & cabbage for supper so I cooked it all day in the crock.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

St. Patrick's Day is not complete without corned beef and cabbage and this Crock Pot recipe is an easy meal for your family. The recipe includes a ham base that increases the flavor of the dish. Adding butter on top melts into the cabbage while cooking and gives it a savory buttery flavor. The corned beef is perfectly tender and slices beautifully. Test Kitchen Avatar The Test Kitchen

How to Make Corned Beef & Cabbage In The Crock

  1. In your Crock Pot place your corned beef in the bottom.
  2. Add enough water to cover the corned beef. Add the soup base and the peppercorn seasoning packet from the corned beef package.
  3. Let this cook for about 3 hours on high setting.
  4. Add potatoes, carrots, more water if needed, and bay leaves on top of corned beef.
  5. Push your cabbage wedges on to the top of veggies.
  6. Then place your butter on top of that.
  7. Place lid on and cook 4 or 5 more hours or until corned beef is very tender
  8. At this point, I tore the corned beef into serving chunks. Then place on a warm setting until ready to eat. Smells wonderful!
