This is just a great recipe for a great classic

Ingredients

  • - meat sauce:
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound italian pork sausage
  • 3/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 can italian plum tpmatos, cut up and undrained
  • 1 - 6oz can tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano, dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • - cheese mixture
  • 1 - 15oz container of ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 - beaten eggs
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 10 - uncooked lasagna noodles

How To Make classic italian lasagna

  • Step 1
    Cook noodles, drain and place in cold water
  • Step 2
    in large saucepan combine beef, sausage, and onion. Cook till meat is done., Drain. Add all remaining meat sauce ingredients, mix well. Bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 30-45 minutes or till very thick. Stirring occasionally
  • Step 3
    In a medium bowl combine all cheese mixture ingredients, except mozzarella. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Spread about 1/2 cup of meat sauce over the bottom of a lightly greased 13x9 baking dish. Top with 3 noodles, half of cheese mixture and half of the mozzarella. repeat layers, ending with the mozzarella.
  • Step 4
    Bake for 35-45 minutes or till bubbly. Let stand a few minutes before serving
