Ingredients

  • 1 pound 90% lean ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlc,minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chinese five spice powder
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce, low sodium
  • 2 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha chili sauce
  • 1 can ( 8oz) diced water chestnuts,drained
  • 1 bunch green onions,thinly sliced
  • 8-12 large boston lettuce leaves

How To Make chinese beef lettuce wraps

  • Step 1
    In a nonstick 12 inch skillet, cook beef,garlic and five spice powder over medium-high heat 8-10 minutes or until browned,breaking up meat with side of spoon. Meanwhile,in cup,mix soy sauce, sherry, water,cornstarch and chili sauce.
  • Step 2
    Stir water chestnuts and green onions into beef mixture.Add soy sauce mixture and cook 1-2 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Makes about 3 cups.
  • Step 3
    Divide beef mixture among lettuce leaves. Fold leaves over beef mixture to eat out of hand.
  • Step 4
    Each serving about 250 calories, 12gram total fat (4.5 g saturated),60 mg sodium, 10g carbs, 2g fiber,24 g protien.
