chinese five spice powder
3 Tbsp
soy sauce, low sodium
2 Tbsp
dry sherry
1 Tbsp
cold water
1 tsp
1 tsp
sriracha chili sauce
1 can(s)
( 8oz) diced water chestnuts,drained
1 bunch
green onions,thinly sliced
8-12 large
boston lettuce leaves

How to Make Chinese Beef Lettuce Wraps


  • 1In a nonstick 12 inch skillet, cook beef,garlic and five spice powder over medium-high heat 8-10 minutes or until browned,breaking up meat with side of spoon. Meanwhile,in cup,mix soy sauce, sherry, water,cornstarch and chili sauce.
  • 2Stir water chestnuts and green onions into beef mixture.Add soy sauce mixture and cook 1-2 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Makes about 3 cups.
  • 3Divide beef mixture among lettuce leaves. Fold leaves over beef mixture to eat out of hand.
  • 4Each serving about 250 calories, 12gram total fat (4.5 g saturated),60 mg sodium, 10g carbs, 2g fiber,24 g protien.
