  • 1 lb
    90% lean ground beef
  • 2 clove
  • 1/2 tsp
    chinese five spice powder
  • 3 Tbsp
    soy sauce, low sodium
  • 2 Tbsp
    dry sherry
  • 1 Tbsp
    cold water
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    sriracha chili sauce
  • 1 can(s)
    ( 8oz) diced water chestnuts,drained
  • 1 bunch
    green onions,thinly sliced
  • 8-12 large
    boston lettuce leaves

How to Make Chinese Beef Lettuce Wraps


  1. In a nonstick 12 inch skillet, cook beef,garlic and five spice powder over medium-high heat 8-10 minutes or until browned,breaking up meat with side of spoon. Meanwhile,in cup,mix soy sauce, sherry, water,cornstarch and chili sauce.
  2. Stir water chestnuts and green onions into beef mixture.Add soy sauce mixture and cook 1-2 minutes or until sauce thickens slightly. Makes about 3 cups.
  3. Divide beef mixture among lettuce leaves. Fold leaves over beef mixture to eat out of hand.
  4. Each serving about 250 calories, 12gram total fat (4.5 g saturated),60 mg sodium, 10g carbs, 2g fiber,24 g protien.
