Chili always does the trick for me.It warms me up and it is also good on a hotdog with coleslaw or even nachos,as well as on a loaded baked potato with cheese, sour cream, and chives,or just by itself with oyster crackers on the side.

Ingredients

olive oil
2 clove
garlic, minced
1/2 c
chopped green onion
1/2 lb
lean ground beef or ground turkey breast
2 Tbsp
hot chili powder

28-oz.can fire-roasted diced tomatoes
1
15-oz.can black beans,rinsed and drained
1 medium
bell pepper,cored,seeded and diced
4
carrots,peeled and grated
1/2 tsp
brown sugar
pinch
a pinch of salt

How to Make CHILI GOODNESS

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large saucepan,heat the oil over medium heat.Add the garlic and green onion and cook for about 1 minute.Add the ground beef and cook until browned,about (5) minutes.
  • 2Stir in the chili powder until fully combined.Add the tomatoes,beans,bell pepper,carrots,brown sugar and salt.Bring the mixture to a boil,then reduce the heat to low.Cover and simmer the chili for (15) minutes.add to bowls serve as is or top with shredded cheese fresh chives and sour cream.
  • 3serves(6).Each serving is (183)calories,if you do not top the chili with shredded cheese.
