chili - beef noodle casserole

My cousin brought this to a family picnic and it has been on our menu for about 15 years. Great to have a main dish or to take to church dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 - 14 oz can of tomatoes
  • 1 - 15 oz can of tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package of medium egg noodles

How To Make chili - beef noodle casserole

  • Step 1
    In large skillet brown ground beef and onion. Drain excess grease.
  • Step 2
    Stir in chili powder.
  • Step 3
    Ad tomatoes, tomato sauce, salt and black pepper.
  • Step 4
    Simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Step 5
    Meanwhile cook noodles according to direction on the package and drain.
  • Step 6
    Serve chili beef over the noodles or you can put it in a 2 quart casserole and top with 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
