cheesesteaks
I am not from PA so don't pretend to have first hand knowledge of Philly Cheesesteaks, but I love the combo of thinly sliced steak and cheese melted over it. This is my version of a favorite sammie. This is more grilling and then assembling than it is a recipe. We love these with grilled green peppers and onions and on a crusty Italian 5 grain loaf bread.

Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium green bell pepper, sliced thickly
- 1 medium onion, sliced on the thick side
- - salt and pepper to taste
- 6 slices round steak, very very thinly sliced
- 4 slices american or provolone cheese, each about 1 oz.
- 2 medium crusty rolls
How To Make cheesesteaks
-
Step 1Slice the green peppers and onions on the thick side.
-
Step 2Put the onions and green pepper in a zip lock bag, add some salt and pepper, add the olive oil and toss to coat. If you don't like peppers or onions, just use whatever you prefer for your sandwiches.
-
Step 3Spray grill with non stick spray, and pre heat grill to med high, I use a stove top grill for this.
-
Step 4Grill peppers and onions until they are tender, move to a cooler part of grill, salt and pepper and grill the steak.
-
Step 5When it is done on one side, flip over, add cheese and cover with aluminum foil for a minute to melt cheese.
-
Step 6Transfer steak and melted cheese to roll, and top with onions and peppers.
