ground venison, ground beef or shredded meat
1 1/2 c
finely shredded cabbage
1 medium
onion, chopped
1 stick
celery, chopped
1/4 c
green pepper, chopped
1 c
catsup
3 Tbsp
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
lemon juice
1 Tbsp
white vinegar
1 Tbsp
worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp
mustard
1 tsp
salt
dash(es)
pepper
8
sandwich rolls

How to Make Cabbage 'n Venison Sloppy Joes

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a large skillet, cook the ground meat, cabbage, onion, celery and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink and vegetables are crisp-tender; drain.

    NOTE: If using shredded meat, pre-cook and add to skillet after vegetables have cooked.
  • 2Stir in the catsup, brown sugar, lemon juice, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt and pepper. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until cabbage is tender. Spoon ½ cup onto each roll.
