Ingredients
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (more if you wish we like mild)
- 1 can sweet whole kernel corn (or other favorite veggie)
- 1 can (9 oz) fritos mild cheddar cheese (in the isle with potato chips)
- 2-3 cups mash potatoes or leftover potato casserole or any potato like french fries would do
How To Make better than shepherds pie
-
Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees Saute hamburger, onion and garlic in a fry pan until meat is cooked, adding chili powder about half way through. Remove from heat, drain.
-
Step 2Put drained meat mixture in a oblong baking dish top with drained corn, then top with the cheese sauce ploping it by spoonfuls and the smoothing it out. Top with what ever potato you wish and put in the oven at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes until you hear it bubbling
-
Step 3Note: I used leftover potato-broccoli casserole and sliced it a inch thick and added it to top of casserole in place of mashed potatoes. I also topped with fresh ground peppercorns
