Although you can jazz this dish up by add additional veggies, I prefer to keep it relatively simple. It’s got just the right amount of spice, and yet it’s not overly spicy. Plus, it can be on the table in thirty quick minutes. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

How To Make beef essentials: spicy ground beef & cabbage

  • Step 1
    PREP/PREPARE
  • Step 2
Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
  • Step 3
Chef’s Note: For the ground chuck steak… buy it from your butcher, and have him course grind the meat. Another term for coarsely ground beef is: Chili Grind.
  • Step 4
Add the butter and grapeseed oil to a skillet over medium heat.
  • Step 5
When the foaming subsides, add the chopped onions.
  • Step 6
Cook until the onions soften, and begin to brown, about 5 – 7 minutes.
  • Step 7
Add the garlic, and sauté until fragrant, about 60 seconds.
  • Step 8
Add the coarsely ground beef to the pan.
  • Step 9
Stir in the tamari sauce, coconut sugar, sesame oil, ground ginger, and white pepper.
  • Step 10
Sauté until the beef is cooked through and brown, about 6 – 8 minutes.
  • Step 11
Chef’s Note: Because of the tamari sauce, you probably won’t need to add any salt.
  • Step 12
Add the cabbage, and shredded carrots.
  • Step 13
Sauté, until the cabbage wilts and softens, about 4 – 6 minutes.
  • Step 14
    PLATE/PRESENT
  • Step 15
Serve up while still nice and warm, and expect your guests to come back for seconds. Enjoy.
  • Step 16
Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
