Ingredients
- 2 pounds cubed beef (chuck or round)
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1 large onion
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 pint tomato juice
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 cup water
- 2 teaspoons salt
How To Make beef barbecue

Step 1In a heavy sauce pan melt shortening. Add cubed beef and brown lightly. Add chopped onion and cook until the onion turns clear.

Step 2Add remaining ingredients and stir. Bring to a boil. Then reduce heat and cook slowly for two hours. When the meat is tender mash the chunks of meat with a potato masher until the mixture is of a thick consistency with no chunks of meat. If desired add a few drops of tobasco sauce.

Step 3Serve on bun.
