Beef, Bacon, & Bean Dinner
Virginia (Ginger) Dean
1 lblean ground beef (no more than 10% fat)
1 can(s)28 ounce, vegetarian baked beans
1 can(s)14.5 ounces diced tomatoes, drained
·salt and pepper to taste (optional)
1 largevidalia or sweet type onion, sliced
7 sliceoscar mayer® turkey bacon
1/2 cbrown sugar (not packed)/ (or to taste)
How to Make Beef, Bacon, & Bean Dinner
- Saute beef lightly, draining excess fat away. Add beans, salt & pepper, and drained tomatoes.
- Spread half of beef mixture in bottom of 2 quart casserole dish. Cover with sliced onions, then add remainder of beef mixture.
- Arrange turkey bacon slices over the top and sprinkle a thin layer of brown sugar over all.
Bake at 350 degrees covered for 45 minutes. Then uncover and continue baking for 15 more minutes. (1 hour total baking time)
- Note: I use Oscar Mayer Turkey® Bacon because to me it tastes better than any other brand out there. But if you prefer another brand use it.
