One of my family and friends favorites! (not an accident this time)

prep time 10 Hr
cook time 6 Hr 30 Min
method ---
yield 4 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless beef sirloin
  • 1 cup beef consomme
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce, low sodium
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 box white rice

How To Make beef and broccoli with rice {crock pot}

  • Step 1
In the insert of the crock pot, whisk together beef consume, soy sauce, dark brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic.
  • Step 2
Gently place your slices of beef in the liquid and toss to coat.
  • Step 3
Turn crock pot on low and cook for 6 hours.
  • Step 4
When done, in a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and cooking liquid to create a slurry, pour into crock pot, stir to mix well. Cook on low for an additional 30 minutes to thicken up the sauce.
  • Step 5
Toss in your broccoli florets then serve hot over white rice.
  • Step 6
*Note about cooking time: Your crockpot may differ in temperature than mine, I suggest cooking this for 4 hours on your first go-round of this dish. 6 hours in the crockpot seems to be giving a lot of people “shredded” beef instead of slices, so decrease cooking time by 2 hours and go from there. Mine turned out fine with 6 hours.
