american mexican nachos grande
If my kids have a request for Sunday dinner I know that it is going to be Nachos. They love them and the hotter the better. My stomach does not allow me to be a spicy person so I put the toppings on that I want and put the others as a side. I never have leftovers and it is so easy to fix. It is a complete meal when I make it...and the only other thing I serve with it is dessert. You can use ground turkey and the topping can be such a wide variety. Enjoy.

Ingredients
- MEAT MIXTURE
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef or ground turkey
- 1 jar salsa ( your choice of heat)
- 1 cup diced onion
- 1 cup diced green pepper
- 1 can refried beans
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 package taco seasoning mix
- AFTER MEAT MIXTURE
- 1 package tortilla chips
- 1 package shredded cheese (your choice) i use a blend)
- 1 cup pepper jack cheese (optional)
- TOPPING
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomato
- 1/2 - onion separated into large rings and cut into large pieces
- 1 cup black olives
- 1 pint sour cream (or more if you like)
- 1 cup jalapeno peppers (optional)
- 1 cup guacamole (optional)
How To Make american mexican nachos grande

Step 1Brown ground beef with onion and green pepper in a large skillet. Add salsa, refried beans, water, taco seasoning, and spices. Combine well. Bring to a boil and turn off.

Step 2Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 3Layer chips on a large cookie sheet and pour the meat mixture over the chips evenly so they are all covered.

Step 4Add your choice of cheese being very generous covering all the meat and chips. If you want to make it a little more spicy, add the pepper jack. It is optional. My kids love it.

Step 5Bake for 20-30 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Step 6Top with shredded lettuce,tomato,chopped onion, black olives and sour cream if desired. Jalapeno peppers and guacamole if desired.
