Ingredients

chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
1 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
powdered ginger
1/4 tsp
ac'cent powder
3 Tbsp
oil
1/2 c
water
1 Tbsp
soy sauce
2 tsp
cornstarch
1 tsp
brown sauce
1 clove
garlic
1/2 c
celery, cut diagonally
1/2 c
green onions, cut 1
1 can(s)
water chestnuts
1 c
salted cashew nuts
1/2 tsp
sugar
6 medium
servings of cooked rice, per package directions

How to Make Oriental Cashew Chicken

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cut chicken into bite size pieces and sprinkle with salt, ginger, and ac'cent.
  • 2Heat oil in heavy skillet and add chicken. Stir and toss rapidly. (can also use wok) (Do not overcook or brown meat. Cook until it loses its pink color.
  • 3Add 1 clove garlic (thinly sliced), onion, and celery.
  • 4Sprinkle with sugar and cook all together about 5 minutes. Vegetables should retain their crispness.
  • 5Add water chestnuts and continue to stir together.
  • 6Combine cornstarch, water, soy sauce, and brown sauce. Pour over meat and vegetables. Cook until sauce thickens slightly, about 2 minutes.
  • 7Add cashew nuts. Add soy sauce and salt to taste preferences. Serve over hot cooked rice. Enjoy! :)
