From a co-worker, and it's just quick and delicious. No dipping sauce needed. I have found that it's best made fresh. Making the filling in advance and reheating even later the same day is not quite as good. Turkey could be cooked in advance, however.

Ingredients

Add to Grocery List

1 1/2 lb
ground turkey
1/4 c
green onion, chopped
3 Tbsp
minced fresh cilantro
2 Tbsp
soy sauce
3 Tbsp
creamy peanut butter (or chunky and omit the peanuts at end of recipes)
2 tsp
red chili paste (gourmet garden brand in a tube)
2 clove
garlic, crushed
1 tsp
sugar
1/2 tsp
red pepper flakes

How to Make Lettuce Wraps

Step-by-Step

  • 1Cook & drain the ground turkey. Add the remaining ingredients.
  • 2Cook the above together 3-4 minutes until heated through and mixed together.
  • 3Serve atop iceberg lettuce leaves with shredded carrots (1 cup) and chopped peanuts (1/4 cup).
  • 4No dipping sauce is needed; perfect balance of flavors and it’s easy to make it spicier or less spicy, as you prefer. This makes a nice appetizer for 6-8 people or can be used as a main course for 2-4 people.
