Ingredients

  • 1 c
    orange juice
  • 1/3 c
    soy sauce
  • 1/4 c
    firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp
    cornstarch
  • 3 Tbsp
    vegetable oil
  • 3 lb
    boneless, skinless chicken breasts cut into one nich cubes
  • 2 Tbsp
    fresh grated orange rind
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp
    hot sauce
  • 4
    scallions cut into 1/4 inch slices
  • 1 can(s)
    (8 oz) sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 2
    oranges peeled seeded and cut into pieces

How to Make Alan's Kyoto Orange Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine first 4 ingredients. Stir until sugar and cornstarch disolve. set aside
  2. Pour oil into preheated wok and bring to medium high (325.)
  3. add chicken and stir fry 2 minutes. Add grated orange rind, ginger and hot sauce - stir fry 2-3 minutes
  4. add orange juice mixture, green onions and water chestnuts. Stir fry 3 minutes until thickened. Stir in ornage sections and stir until warm. Serve over hot rice.
