This is something that I had to come up with in a snap. Instead of store bought buttermilk, I used a substitution of homemade buttermilk which tastes the same. Gives it a nice little tart taste.

Ingredients For razzy black breakfast smoothie

  • 1 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1 c
    low fat milk (just shy 1 tbsp)
  • 1 md
    banana frozen in chunks
  • 10
    almonds
  • 1/4 c
    cooked oatmeal
  • 2 Tbsp
    flax
  • 1/4 c
    blueberries frozen
  • 1/4 c
    blackberries frozen
  • 2/3 c
    raspberry flavored yogurt (one container)
  • 2 Tbsp
    grape juice or apple juice
  • 6
    ice cubes

How To Make razzy black breakfast smoothie

    In a one cup measuring cup, place 1 tbsp vinegar and fill the rest of the cup with milk. Set aside and let sit for 5 minutes. (this is your buttermilk).

    Place banana, almonds, oatmeal, flax and berries in blender and pulse a few times. Add yogurt, juice and "buttermilk" and blend to combine. Add ice cubes 2 at a time and pulse to break up, then blend to desired consistency.

    Note: If you prefer, you can use 1 cup buttermilk if you have it on hand. Then omit milk and vinegar.
