Nice simple way to get in a good breakfast with few ingredients. While berries are on sale during peak times, why not stock up and freeze them for wonderful smoothies?

Ingredients

  • 1 medium fresh banana, in chunks
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup low fat milk
  • 1 tablespoon flax
  • 1 tablespoon wheat germ (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter (low in sugar) or almond butter
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1/2 cup vanilla low fat yogurt, or non fat
  • 3 - ice cubes

How To Make blue'ana peanut butter smoothie

  • Step 1
    Grind flax or wheat germ in blender/grinder to breakdown further if you wish. This helps with any bitterness from the flax if this bothers you.
  • Step 2
    Place ice, banana, blueberries, milk, flax and/or wheat germ and pulse. Add remaining ingredients of peanut butter, honey and yogurt and blend. If you wish, you can add additional ice to this to make it cold.
