    1oz. squares bitter chocolate, grated
  • 1/2 c
    cold water
  • 3/4 c
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 c
    heavy cream, whipped
  • 4 c
    hot milk

How to Make Hot Chocolate, French Style


  1. Combine grated chocolate and water in saucepan. Heat over direct heat, beating constantly for 4 minutes. Add sugar and salt. Beat and cook 4 minutes longer. Let cool. Fold in whipped cream. To serve, place generous tablespoon of chocolate mixture in each cup. Fill with scalding hot milk.
