basil and jalapeno lemonade
The jalapeno flavor is a nice finish to the sweet lemonade. Try this out. You'll be surprised! Pleasantly! There is ZERO heat from the jalapeno in this concoction. Even my kids drink it up! It is Fabulous!

Ingredients
- 4 cups water
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup fresh basil
- 2 tablespoons fresh mint
- 1 - jalapeno pepper
- 1 liter club soda
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice

How To Make basil and jalapeno lemonade

Step 1Simple Syrup: In large saucepan combine water, sugar, basil, mint and whole jalapeno. Bring to a boil and then reduce to simmer. Continue simmering for 20 minutes. Strain simple syrup and discard jalapeno and leaves. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours - overnight is best.

Step 2In very large punch container combine syrup, soda and juice.

Step 3Serve over ice. Garnish with fresh basil or mint, if desired.
