homemade slurpees
Stumbled across this recipe/picture on the ONEGOODTHING site, very imformative place. Had 2 of our youngest neighbors (both 8) over for a card game afternoon. Now of course I had to serve snacks so I whipped up cupcakes and this very tasty drink. The kids fell in love with this drink and were happy to take home copies of the recipes.

Ingredients
- 2 cups ice
- 1 cup carbonated beverage
- 1 tablespoon pre-sweetened kool-aid or tang powder
How To Make homemade slurpees
-
Step 1Put the ice in a blender.
-
Step 2Add enough carbonated beverage to just make the ice float.
-
Step 3Add in the pre-sweetened Kool-Aid.
-
Step 4Blend until slushy. Serve at once.
-
Step 5Notice no FLAVORS are mentioned, that’s because there are ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES here to come up with your own favorite! The one pictured is a basic cherry Slurpee, with lemon-lime soda and cherry Kool-Aid (which the kids LOVED!)…Other suggestions: red cream soda with Tang powder; pineapple soda with Tang, orange soda with tropical punch, or pretty much any Kool-Aid flavor with lemon-lime soda.
