Fruit Infused Green Tea

I've been trying to find healthier choices for getting fluids, other than soft drinks. Fruit infused water is popular, and then I thought, why not green tea? It's a very healthy beverage, and homemade is best. The bottled green teas in the grocery stores have very little real green tea in them. This way, I have a lovely flavored all-natural green tea.

How to Make Fruit Infused Green Tea

Step-by-Step

  1. Make tea: pour the almost-boiling water over teabags in a heat-proof container and steep for 5-6 minutes.
  2. Place ice cubes and fresh or frozen fruit pieces into serving glasses or take-along water bottles. Slowly pour tea evenly over the ice and fruit. Add additional water to fill the glass or bottle, and sweetener if desired.
  3. This can also be made in a large pitcher. I used frozen strawberries in the batch I just made. I cut them into halves or thirds. Other possibilities might be sliced peaches, lemons or limes, blueberries or raspberries, or melon chunks. Mint or basil leaves also make a nice addition.
