A warming fall/winter drink that is ready and waiting when you come in from raking leaves or shopping. (can also be made on the stove in a large, non-reactive pot, simmering for a couple of hours.)

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • 1/2 large orange
  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar
  • 6 - whole allspice berries
  • 1/8 teaspoon cardamom seeds (or 8 whole pods, crushed)
  • 1 - inch piece fresh ginger, peeled
  • 2 sticks cinnamon, 3-inches each
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 10 - whole cloves
  • 1 - whole star anise

How To Make slow cooker spiced cranberry cider

  • Step 1
    Put all of the ingredients into a 3-qt Slow Cooker and stir. Cover with lid and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
  • Step 2
    Ladle into mugs through a small strainer (to strain out whole spices and cranberries).
