Living in cold and snowy western NY and enjoying snowmobiling in the winter our extended family went through a ton of hot chocolate in a winter. My husband's cousin shared this inexpensive alternative to store bought mix with me and I have used it for almost 40 years.

I like to put in a pretty jar for Christmas gifts.

1/3 cup mix per cup

Ingredients

How to Make Cousin Caroline's Instant Hot Chocolate Mix

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine all ingredients, stirring well. Store in tightly covered jar in cool, dry place.
  2. To use mix: Place 1/3 cup mix in cup in small amount of boiling water to dissolve mix; then fill cup with boiling water.
