Living in cold and snowy western NY and enjoying snowmobiling in the winter our extended family went through a ton of hot chocolate in a winter. My husband's cousin shared this inexpensive alternative to store bought mix with me and I have used it for almost 40 years. I like to put in a pretty jar for Christmas gifts.

Ingredients
- 4 cups milk, nonfat, dry
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
How To Make cousin caroline's instant hot chocolate mix

Step 1Combine all ingredients, stirring well. Store in tightly covered jar in cool, dry place.

Step 2To use mix: Place 1/3 cup mix in cup in small amount of boiling water to dissolve mix; then fill cup with boiling water.
