classic sangria

This Classic Sangria is wonderful as is, but for a little extra flavor I like to add extra fruit which makes a nice addition. After adding the citrus fruits, I add 1 peach, cut into thin wedges and about 1/2 cup pitted sour cherries.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle 750 ml dry red wine
  • 6 slices orange
  • 6 slices lemon
  • 2 tablespoons triple sec
  • 2 tablespoons brandy
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 bottle 750 ml club soda, chilled
  • 30 - ice cubes

How To Make classic sangria

  • Step 1
    In a large chilled pitcher, combine the red wine, orange and lemon slices, triple sec and brandy with 1 tbsp of sugar.
  • Step 2
    Cover and refrigerate for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
  • Step 3
    Before serving add club soda and ice, taste and adjust sugar or soda as preferred.
