Posted here for play in Culinary Quest - South America. Recipe posted by Marian Blazes. Limes are "limones" pronounced (lee-mone-ayes) in South America. This frozen limeade is very tart and refreshing. Make the sugar syrup first to give it time to cool before adding to the juice and ice. Try adding a little lime zest, and alcohol of your choice... for a more adult version.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 4 cups crushed ice

How To Make south american - limonada frozen - frozen limeade

  • Step 1
    Bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Step 2
    Remove from heat and cool.
  • Step 3
    Mix sugar water, lime juice, and ice in a blender, and blend until well mixed and slushy.
  • Step 4
    Serve immediately in tall glasses.
