Limes are "limones" pronounced (lee-mone-ayes) in South America. This frozen limeade is very tart and refreshing.

Make the sugar syrup first to give it time to cool before adding to the juice and ice.

Try adding a little lime zest, and alcohol of your choice... for a more adult version.

  • 1/2 c
    fresh lime juice
  • 4 c
    crushed ice

How to Make South American - Limonada Frozen - Frozen Limeade


  1. Bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and cool.
  3. Mix sugar water, lime juice, and ice in a blender, and blend until well mixed and slushy.
  4. Serve immediately in tall glasses.
