Posted here for play in Culinary Quest - South America. Recipe posted by Marian Blazes. Limes are "limones" pronounced (lee-mone-ayes) in South America. This frozen limeade is very tart and refreshing. Make the sugar syrup first to give it time to cool before adding to the juice and ice. Try adding a little lime zest, and alcohol of your choice... for a more adult version.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
- 4 cups crushed ice

Step 1Bring water and sugar to a boil, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

Step 2Remove from heat and cool.

Step 3Mix sugar water, lime juice, and ice in a blender, and blend until well mixed and slushy.

Step 4Serve immediately in tall glasses.
