Holiday Wassail

I've been making this for years for Christmas. It's good any time but it makes a lot. You would have to pare down the recipe to just make a few cups of this.

Ingredients

1 qt
black, hot tea
1 qt
cranberry juice cocktail
1 qt
apple juice
3
cinnamon sticks

whole cloves
2 c
orange juice (with or without pulp)
3/4 c
fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 c
granulated sugar
rum
brandy
fresh orange slices
cloves for the orange slices

Step-By-Step

1Place all the ingredients in a large Dutch oven or other large saucepan.
2Bring to a boil, then turn down the heat and simmer.
3Add 1/5 bottle of Rum and 1/2 fifth bottle of Brandy.
4Add slices of fresh orange.
5Keep warm until you are ready to serve.
6Take some fresh orange slices and stick cloves in them.
7Pour the wassail into a cup, add the fresh orange slice with cloves, and enjoy.

Make sure you remove the cloves and cinnamon sticks from the wassail before you pour it into cups.
