My parents drank cocktails only on special occasions, and for my Mom it was always a Brandy Alexander. Mom did not like brandy but she loved the crème de cacao and cream in it! I set out to find a brandy I think she would have loved and this one is it. It is an Italian brandy with a hint of vanilla and baking spices. If you cannot find it just use any premium quality brandy. It will still be the best Brandy Alexander you've ever had. Mom has passed on but I have completed my mission to perfect a concoction that I think she would have loved. This one is for you Mom.

Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) vecchia romagna brandy (may substitute any brandy)
- 3 tablespoons (1 1/2 ounces) creme de cacao
- 2 dashes chocolate bitters
- 2 dashes mint bitters
- - ground nutmeg, for garnish
How To Make brandy alexander mom's way

Step 1Combine all ingredients, except nutmeg, in cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into martini or similar glass. Sprinkle nutmeg on top for garnish. Sip the best Brandy Alexander you've ever tasted; made Mom's way!

Step 2For a frozen drink place ingredients in blender with ice. Blend and pour into glass. Serve with cocktail straw.
