try a radler

A Radler is a thirst quenching, beer based drink that has been popular in Austria, for a very long time; especially in the summer. It is a mix of beer and either Almdudler, Sprite, Ginger Ale, Lemon Soda or Lemonade. This version combines light, crisp lager and homemade lemon soda made with fresh squeezed lemon juice. Sounds great to me. I know first hand that ginger ale and beer are good together, so I am betting the other beer variations will be just as good.
Ingredients For try a radler
- LEMON SODA
4 ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 ounces simple syrup
6 ounces club soda or seltzer, cold
- SIMPLE SYRUP
1 cup water
2 cups sugar
- RADLER DRINK
12 ounces light lager, chilled
2 lemon slices
How To Make try a radler
1Lemon Soda: Pour lemon juice, simple syrup in a small pitcher and mix. Next add the club soda and give it a good stir.
2Simple Syrup: Add 1 cup of water and 2 cups of sugar to a medium saucepan, cook over medium-high heat, stir often, it is done when the sugar is dissolved and the syrup has thickened. Cool and keep in an airtight container in the fridge to use in other summer drinks.
