I had these at a Kentucky Derby party. They pack a punch!! There is a 12 hour resting time for flavors to blend.....you need to stir occasionally but it is basically sitting time.

serves 3 1/2 cups
prep time 12 Hr
cook time 5 Min
method Stove Top

  •   2 1/4 c
  •   1 c
  •   1/2 c
    fresh mint leaves, packed
  •   2 c
    fresh mint sprigs, to garnish
    crushed ice

How To Make

  • 1
Combine sugar, water, and mint leaves in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, 5 minutes or until the sugar dissolves.
  • 2
Remove from the heat. Let stand 12 hours at room temperature, stirring occasionally.
  • 3
Pour the liquid through a wire-mesh strainer into a pitcher, discarding the mint leaves. Stir in the bourbon and chill. Serve over crushed ice. Garnish, if desired, with mint sprigs.
