hay stack cocktail
Most know the Space Needle was built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. I recently saw a vintage bar menu from the revolving 'Eye of the Needle' (Space Needle Restaurant with a 360° panoramic view of the fairgrounds) that lists cocktails created for the Fair and given names to fit the Fair's futuristic theme of 'Living in the Space Age'. I've posted the cocktail recipes I can find (or recreate, like this one). The 'Hay Stack' was described as "You will like feeling a haystack in a needle. A hint of pineapple, a bit of fresh lemon blended with vodka and light rum", and it was $1.50 in 1962.
