This is one of my favorite recipes for a classic whiskey sour. It comes from an old book of cocktails that my ex-MIL picked up on one of her many travels. She gave it to me years after the divorce… we stayed on friendly terms. It is tart, and sassy, and best paired with a stunning sunset. So, you ready… Let’s get into the kitchen.

Raw egg whites Raw eggs can pose a problem for pregnant women and for those with immune problems. You can buy pasteurized eggs that still look raw but have been heated up enough to kill any of the bad bugs. Or, you can make your own… here is a recipe I have to do just that. https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/side/other-side-dish/sous-vide-essentials-pasteurized-eggs.html

The Book This is the book the recipe came from. The front and back are made of wood, and the image on the front was hand painted. I am not sure how old it is; however, it is at least 60 – 70 years old. It is all about cocktails, how to make them, with tips/tricks. Every time I open it, I think of the sweet southern lady that gave it to me.
