rice pudding, mom's recipe

This is a really old recipe and I had forgotton all about it until my BF's mom was asking about it. Hunted up the recipe and here it is.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups milk
  • 1 cup white rice, i usually use long grain
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 large egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

How To Make rice pudding, mom's recipe

  • Step 1
    Put milk and rice in a heavy sauce pan, bring to a low simmer, stir from time to time, and continue to cook until rice is done. I like a teflon pan the best for this.
  • Step 2
    In a bowl whisk everything else and stir it into cooked rice.
  • Step 3
    Continue to simmer until thick enough.
  • Step 4
    Serve warm or cold.
