Warm rice pudding is one of our family favorite's for those cold winter mornings before heading out to wait for the school bus.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    cream
  • 1 1/2 c
    milk
  • 1/2 c
    rice
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/3 c
    raisins
  • ·
    cinnamon

How to Make Rice Pudding

Step-by-Step

  1. Butter a 1 1/2 to 2 quart baking dish. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. Combine cream, milk, rice, sugar, and salt over moderate heat and bring to a boil. Stirring constantly!
  3. Pour hot rice mixture into buttered baking dish. Cover and bake 45 minutes. Stirring every 15 minutes.
  4. Stir in raisins and vanilla and bake covered for 15 minutes more.
  5. Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste before serving warm or cold. We enjoy it with a little milk or cream drizzled over the warm pudding.
