Warm rice pudding is one of our family favorite's for those cold winter mornings before heading out to wait for the school bus.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cream
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup rice
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup raisins
  • - cinnamon

How To Make rice pudding

  • Step 1
    Butter a 1 1/2 to 2 quart baking dish. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
  • Step 2
    Combine cream, milk, rice, sugar, and salt over moderate heat and bring to a boil. Stirring constantly!
  • Step 3
    Pour hot rice mixture into buttered baking dish. Cover and bake 45 minutes. Stirring every 15 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Stir in raisins and vanilla and bake covered for 15 minutes more.
  • Step 5
    Sprinkle with cinnamon to taste before serving warm or cold. We enjoy it with a little milk or cream drizzled over the warm pudding.
