mom's rice pudding
This is my mom's rice pudding recipe. It is perfect and amazing (when she makes it). Although I have been able to make most of her recipes, this one eludes me. I have yet to make it as good as she does. This is why I don't have a picture of it-YET.

Ingredients
- 1 quart whole milk
- 1 quart water
- 1 1/3 cups carolina rice
- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon vanilla
- 1/2 pint light cream
- 1 1/2 cups raisins (optional)
- cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)
How To Make mom's rice pudding

Step 1Mix milk, water, rice, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat for 45 minutes, stirring constantly.

Step 2Add raisins (if applicable) and continue to cook for 15 minutes more.

Step 3Remove from heat

Step 4In a separate bowl, mix egg yolks, vanilla, and cream

Step 5Pour egg mixture into pudding pan

Step 6Pour mixture into a bowl and allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, until a crust forms on top

Step 7Sprinkle with cinnamon (optional), cover, and refrigerate
