This is my mom's rice pudding recipe. It is perfect and amazing (when she makes it). Although I have been able to make most of her recipes, this one eludes me. I have yet to make it as good as she does. This is why I don't have a picture of it-YET.

Ingredients For mom's rice pudding

1 qtwhole milk

1 qtwater
-
1 1/3 ccarolina rice

1 1/3 csugar
-
2egg yolks
-
1 Tbspvanilla
-
1/2 ptlight cream
-
1 1/2 craisins (optional)

cinnamon for sprinkling (optional)
How To Make mom's rice pudding

1Mix milk, water, rice, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat for 45 minutes, stirring constantly.

2Add raisins (if applicable) and continue to cook for 15 minutes more.

3Remove from heat

4In a separate bowl, mix egg yolks, vanilla, and cream

5Pour egg mixture into pudding pan

6Pour mixture into a bowl and allow to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, until a crust forms on top

7Sprinkle with cinnamon (optional), cover, and refrigerate
